10k yellow goldI do not usually wear 10k yellow gold because I have a very fair skin tone and it does not really suit me. Instead I prefer white gold. However I often see attractive 10k yellow gold jewelry when I am perusing the web.  I have also bought 10k yellow gold jewelry gifts for female friends and relatives that happen to suit it. I have noticed that 10k yellow gold is actually very affordable these days, especially if purchased via the web. I have noticed a lot of pieces selling at wholesale jewelry prices on my internet travels. From what I understand 10k yellow gold is less pure and therefore cheaper than gold of a higher karat weight. The fact that 10k yellow gold contains more silver or copper than higher karat weights also makes it stronger and more durable. Yet it still looks just as luxurious as more expensive yellow gold with 14, 18 or 22 karats. To my way of thinking the reasonable price and durability of 10k yellow gold make it a great gift for someone with a warm or dark skin tone.
