14k Gold Cross
This morning our ladies group gathered together again after summer break and one of the ladies in our group had been given a beautiful 14k gold cross for her birthday. I believe she is around 70 years old, and the oldest in our group. She always has stories to tell that last much longer than the rest of us. Some of the girls get frustrated with her, but she’s so precious that I can’t imagine getting frustrated with her because she’s a little long winded.
This morning she was so excited about her 14k gold cross, and how her husband surprised her with it and the story behind the sentiment of him giving her a cross. She shared about a cruise that she took this summer, plus spent time with her children who visited from New Zealand, but I could clearly see the highlight of her summer was receiving the 14k gold cross from the man she loves.
Since we usually sit in a circle, and she was sitting across from me, I couldn’t really see the 14k gold cross very well, so after we finished and were standing around the table drinking coffee, I asked her if I could see the cross. You should have seen her face light up, and she pulled the 14k gold cross out from under her scarf and showed it to me proudly. That’s what I call love at it’s finest.
