A few days ago, I was having a conversation with someone about how I prefer 14k gold to other types of gold. I actually own quite a bit of gold, but I’ve found that 14k tends to wear better for the long term than others. I know it may sound strange, but I also think that 14k gold has a prettier color than some of the other types of gold. Another reason I count it amongst my favorites.
I always find it interesting how different we are as human beings and how our preferences differ based on our experiences. While I prefer 14k gold, the person I was having a conversation with actually prefers sterling sliver or platinum, to white gold and had very valid reasons why they prefer it.
After that particular conversation, I found myself curious as to the metal preference of my friends, so I decided to poll them and see what they had to say. With the exception of two, they all said they prefer 14k gold to other metal types and weights. The two who didn’t prefer gold, only wear sterling silver and nothing else. Different strokes for different folks.
